Albert had the BEST smile!  And he was SO smart! I totally had a crush on him in high school.  So sad to learn that he is gone from this world as we know it.

I found AlbertÅ› obituary online and thought I would share it. He was so funny and his laugh and smile were definitely contagious.  If you get a minute to look up the obituary there is a beautiful video with pictures of him and his beautiful family.

Albert Alexander Flangas, 55, surrounded by his family, reposed in the Lord on March 26, 2015, after a valiant and courageous three and a half year battle with cancer. Albert was born on October 7, 1959 in Las Vegas, Nevada and was a lifetime resident. He graduated from Clark High School in 1977 and attended the University of Nevada Reno, graduating in 1982 with a Bachelors Degree in Business. He also received a Commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army and served in the Reserves. Albert was a gifted real estate developer and was the owner of AF Properties and Investments. Albert was larger than life and people naturally gravitated towards him. He had a vibrant and brilliant smile coupled with a gregarious and infectious laugh that not only filled the room but also enveloped everyone around him. He exuded such an amazing love for living that the many people in his life felt truly blessed to be part of him. Albert loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit many great places. He had a passion for sports, and especially enjoyed playing basketball. He always took great pride in out playing and out hustling much younger players on the court, even after he turned fifty. Albert was an astute businessman and real estate developer with an uncanny ability to chart the growth and path of Las Vegas. He was well known in the community for his acumen in real estate investment and for his ability to put together business deals. He was also well known for his contributions and work towards many charities, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Las Vegas. More importantly Albert was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, daddy, and friend. His wife, Trudi, and their children were his ultimate love and greatest source of happiness. Albert leaves behind a large, close and loving family and many, many friends who are all missing him tremendously. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Trudi Flangas; his son, Zachary Von Tobel Flangas; his twin daughters, Arianna and Isabelle Flangas; his Father and Mother, Bill and Marilyn Flangas; his brothers, Gus “Billy” (Tamara) Flangas, and Gary (Amanda) Flangas; and many uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren. There will be a Viewing at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, with a Trisagion following at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, all at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 El Camino Road (located on W. Hacienda Ave between Torrey Pines and Jones). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the St. John Building Fund. May his memory be eternal.
